In the Year 1933, The East India Film Company produced his first Telugu movie i.e Savitri which was shot in Calcutta with a budget of 75 thousand based on a popular stage play Mylavaram Bala Bharathi Samajam. This movie was directed by Chittajallu Pullaiah. In the Year 1951 film, Patala Bhairavi was the First Telugu movie from south Indian film to get a chance to premiere at India International Film Festival in Mumbai on 24th January 1952.
